Electronic Resources Usage Policy

e-Libraries Punjab provide access to thousands of purchased and licensed electronic journals, books, and databases for use by eLibrary users. It is the responsibility of individual users to ensure fair use of these electronic resources as per e-libraries policy and Government of Pakistan rules and regulations. Strict disciplinary action will be taken for any violations as per government rules.
General guidelines for e-Resources are mentioned below:

Permitted

  • Searching, viewing, downloading, and reading of search results digital contents
  • Viewing, downloading, and reading of individual articles, eBooks, e-Theses or other digital contents
  • Using e-resources for scholarly, educational, professional or scientific research, teaching, or any other developmental purposes

Not Permitted

  • Searching, reading, viewing, downloading, posting, porn, sectarian, blasphemy, ethnic, hate, terrorist organizations / activities, violence related materials and contents
  • Any activity violating cyber laws
  • Use of robots or intelligent agents to do systematic, bulk or automatic downloading
  • Systematic downloading or printing of entire journal issues or volumes or large portions of other e-resources
  • Using e-resources for commercial gain (i.e. reselling, redistributing or republishing licensed content)
  • Transmitting, disseminating or otherwise making online content available to unauthorized users (i.e., sending to mailing lists or electronic bulletin boards)
  • Posting the publisher's version or PDF of an article to an open class website (instead, post the URL to the article, which will allow access only by authorized users
  • Use of external devices without the special permission of concerned Head Librarian
